At the construction site of the China Resources International Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (Guangdong) project in Huadong Town, Huadu District, vehicles were shuttling back and forth, and the construction was proceeding in an orderly manner. With the official groundbreaking of the project, a modern pharmaceutical and health logistics hub that will focus on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and radiate its influence through the whole country has accelerated its progress from blueprint to reality.

It is reported that the project is invested and constructed by China Resources Guangdong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Resources Pharmaceutical Commercial Group; it has a total investment of about 936 million yuan, a total land area of about 18 acres, and a total construction area of more than 100,000 square meters. Designed to be a future-oriented intelligent, green and multi-functional pharmaceutical and health logistics benchmark hub, the project has been successfully included in key project list of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou city, and has been selected as part of the national backbone cold chain logistics base and the commercial and trade service-oriented national logistics hub system of Guangzhou.

Now, the project is under comprehensive construction. According to the plan, four main buildings including a single-story three-dimensional warehouses, multi-story warehouses and comprehensive buildings will be built, where advanced logistics technologies such as AS/RS automated warehousing and multi-shuttle dense storage and picking system will be integrated to create a modern supply chain service platform covering the whole temperature range from room temperature to cooling, refrigeration and freezing temperatures. The project's four major operation sectors include self-operated logistics, third-party logistics, centralized cold chain logistics and bonded logistics.

"Placing 'intelligent operation, diversified compatibility, and low-carbon demonstration' at the core, the project is committed to becoming a key node in the supply chain of the medical and health industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area." The relevant person in charge of the project said that in-depth application of automated and intelligent systems was expected to improve the efficiency of warehousing and sorting by about 40%, and the project would make every effort to build a "near-zero carbon emission demonstration park" to practice the concept of green and sustainable development.

Since the launch of the project, departments at all levels in Huadu District, Guangzhou city and Guangdong province have taken the initiative to provide services and precise support, offering "all-round, all-weather and full-process" guarantees in supporting road network construction, soil and water conservation projects and optimization of the approval process, which has promoted the efficient completion of preliminary procedures of the project, pressing the "acceleration button" for the construction of the project.

It has been learned that the project is the core carrier of "Healthy China" , a commercial services strategy of China Resources Pharmaceutical to embed itself into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the completion of which will effectively integrate the storage resources in South China, significantly improve the supply guarantee capacity of drugs, especially emergency drugs and cold chain drugs, and provide strong support for "Hong Kong and Macao Medicine and Equipment Connect" and other cross-border pharmaceutical services.

The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in April 2028. It will then not only greatly enhance China Resources' core competitiveness in the field of pharmaceutical logistics in South China, but also create a large number of jobs, drive the agglomeration of the industrial chain, and inject continuous impetus into the strengthening of the public health emergency support system and the high-quality development of the biomedical industry in the Greater Bay Area.

In the future, this technology-base and green pharmaceutical supply chain hub will, with higher standards and better services, help Guangzhou and even the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area build a new highland for the biomedical industry and become a strategic pivot for global resource allocation.
